This house was built in a standard 880 m2 size plot located at an eastern suburban extension of Santiago, by the foot of the Andes. It was designed for a family consisting of both parents and their three children. The site’s north-east orientation is coincident with the views over the mountain landscape, enabling a simple partie composed of a main volume in the shape of a regular box laid across the site, containing in two stores the livingrooms and bedrooms, which is open to a side of the garden and for privacy to the opposite side of the street, and an annexed solid of irregular shape enclosing the stairs and bathrooms, placed at the closed western façade. The latter resembles a rock suspended over a water sink in the entrance patio. Beside, we placed a low volume with the kitchen, laundry, maid’s room, and garage, with direct access from the street.
